North American forest products rail freight 7.9% above year ago for week of June 21

OAKLAND, CA, June 30, 2014 (RISI) -North American forest products railroad freight in the week ending June 21 was 7.9% higher than a year earlier at 19,962 carloads, the Assn of American Railroads reported.

Forest products volume through 25 weeks of 2014 at 460,737 carloads was 1.2% lower than in 2013.

US traffic in the week was up 12.2%, Canada was up 1.8% and Mexico was 73.2% higher.

Total North American rail carloads in the week were up 3.5% and year-to-date were up 2.3%, AAR showed.
