Georgia-Pacific selects site to build $50-60 million distribution center in Pennsylvania

MECHANICSBURG, PA, June 12, 2014 (Local News) -Georgia-Pacific has selected a Cumberland County site in the I-81 corridor for a new distribution center, the Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation announced today.

The location is in Southampton Township off exit 29 along Walnut Bottom Road (Route 174), said Jonathan Bowser, CEO of the economic development organization.

Georgia-Pacific had also been considering a site off exit 24 near Shippensburg in Franklin County, but after it was withdrawn, chose the Cumberland County location for the $50-60 million project, Bowser said. The EDC was notified today, he said.
